Drug Screens Plus Privacy Statement
Drug Screens Plus has chosen to specialize in a field (substance abuse testing and program administration) that requires a commitment to a very high standard of data security and privacy of personal information. Likewise, it is our policy to maintain that same commitment with respect to our online visitors.
What Personal Information We Collect
Drug Screens Plus will collect information that identifies your (“personal information”) online only when you voluntarily provide it to us through our site; e.g., by “registering” on our site (not currently required), collecting information to allow you to establish a username and password (not currently required), or by sending us email. Such information, if requested, could include your name, mailing address, telephone number, email address, and other related information.
How We Use Personal Information We Collect Online
A) Internal uses
We may use your personal information within Drug Screens Plus (1) to provide you with the services and products you request, (2) to assist in answering your questions about our services, billing, payment methods or use of our web site, (3) to process or collect payments made in connection with our service to you, (4) to evaluate our services and products and to conduct customer surveys, and (5) to track you down and prosecute you if we believe that you have ripped off any of our copyrighted materials, failed to pay for services, etc.
The vast majority of our business comes from referrals and direct inquires by parties interested in our services. We do not make “cold calls” and do very little advertising. However, we do occasionally mail information about our services to businesses (e.g., medical facilities, insurance companies, consultants and third-party administrators)…potential referral sources for our services.
If at some point in the future, we require registration and/or the establishment of usernames/passwords, you may be given a choice of options and/or preferences (e.g., receiving periodic information/promotional mail or email from us), and will be able to change your preferences (e.g., within your registration profile) at any time.
B) Disclosure of Personal Information to Third Parties
We will not give, sell, rent, loan, exchange, or otherwise disclose any personal information to any third party unless we are legally required to do so (e.g., in response to a subpoena, court order or other legal process), and/or it is necessary to do so in order to protect and defend the rights or property of our company (including but not limited to this web site). We do not just “pay lip service” to privacy issues; over the years, we have spent thousands of dollars (successfully) “quashing” subpoenas.
Collection, Use and Disclosure of Non-personal Information
Currently, Drug Screens Plus does not use “cookies” to track our website visitors. If we institute a registration/username/password requirement (not currently required on our site) we will also probably institute “cookies” to let us know that a prior customer/member is visiting our site and allow “automatic” login (vs having to enter a username/password on each visit) and to provide us with statistical information about how many people are using our site and for what purpose. If we decide to go that route, we will change this policy. Until then…no cookies.
How We Protect Information Online
1) We don’t put personal information from our databases online.
2) We ask you not to send us personal information via email unless you understand that such information may be intercepted by others not under our control (just as personal information on “snail mail” can be intercepted by others). If you do send us personal information via email (or, for that matter, via telephone, fax, or other means not guaranteed to be secure), you do so at your own risk.
3) While all of our employees occasionally have a business need to be able to access virtually any of the personal information in our files, they have been educated about the importance of confidentiality and privacy, the importance of accessing information on a need-to-know basis, and the principle of “what you see here stays here.”
Links to Other Sites
Drug Screens Plus does not control and is not responsible for the privacy policies or practices of any other sites either public or private, directly or indirectly linked to our website. We encourage you to consult the privacy policy of each site you visit. Do not assume any site is safe…perhaps especially (in light of recent monumental breaches of security/privacy) government sites.
Your Consent
By using our web site, you consent to the collection, use and disclosure of information as described in this policy.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may change this privacy policy from time to time, so please check back often. We will let you know that the policy has been changed by changing the effective date at the bottom of the page. We will always let you know the information we collect, how we use it, and the circumstances (if any) under which such information may be disclosed by us.
