Drug Testing Basic Services
The basics of a drug test include collecting a specimen, testing the specimen, and taking action based on the results of the test. And, it is relatively easy to find someone who will simply collect a specimen, test the specimen (or have it tested) and report the results to you. Many people like that kind of drug testing service…those people are called “Plaintiff Attorneys”.
Overview
The cheapest way to do a drug/alcohol test is to do it right. What is the right way to do a drug/alcohol test? Good question! Why not ask the Plaintiff Attorneys? Over the years, we’ve been asked by attorneys to provide litigation support for various employer’s who didn’t use our service. Most of the cases involved non-regulated employers (i.e., employers not regulated by the Department of Transportation). Funny thing though…the Plaintiff Attorneys invariably challenged the employers standards for testing based on standards established by the DOT! …Standards for specimen collection, chain of custody, laboratory testing for initial and confirmation testing, medical review of the lab results, policies, procedures, recordkeeping, etc. The cheapest way to do a drug/alcohol test is to do it right.
